Drawing 515Overheard on the train on the way to work last week (preface: there is talk that the government is going to retire our five cent piece, as it did the one and two cent coins some years ago):
Her: Yeah, they should so get rid of the five cent, it's useless. Hey, know what else? They should make a one hundred cent coin!
Him (rolls eyes): They do.
Her (patronisingly): Nooooooooo...
Him: Yeah. The one dollar coin.
Her, (looking blank but with less certainty): Nooooo--ooo-o
Him (also patronisingly, and slightly triumphant): How many cents are there in a dollar?
Silence for a few beats while she digests this.
Her: Oh.
I tried not to smirk.
