Drawing day eighty-nine - the end of the alphabet!
Drawing day ninety
The above is a found object I picked up in the grocery carpark on Sunday. I thought at first it was a flattened Solo can (Solo is a lemon soft drink), but when I got it home I could just make out the words in red at the top left and discovered it's actually a (rather substantial) metal lid from a jar of Old El Paso corn dip. It's so wonderfully weathered and flattened, to the point where when I held it up to the light there are several holes worn right through it! It must have been driven over, stepped on, rubbed into the gravel, rained on and baked in the sun for quite a while to reach this state :)
Not sure what I'll do with it, but it appealed to me.
I'm 48, female, just finished a two year course in Visual Arts, and am now back in the market for a job (boo!). I worked in the library field for the better part of three decades and two years ago took the plunge from a job that made me unhappy to go back to school. I've loved every moment of it and as soon as I have enough money to tide me over being a poverty stricken student I'm going back for more!
